Colin joined the Police in 1999 after a career in football and working at John Lewis. Having previously just commuted to work on a bike he got into road cycling in 2010 and now he enjoys the exercise, escaping to the countryside and the social side of meeting and chatting to others. After organising two London2Paris rides and having them postponed for two years running he was approached by some other services like NHS and Fire Service to join him on the ride. This is where the idea of Bluelight Cycling Club started. With shift work he found that he wasn’t able to meet with friends to ride as much so this will be an ideal chance to meet fellow cyclists from the Bluelight and Armed forces Community.
Dan started off working for the London Ambulance service in 1996. His love of uniforms saw him join the Metropolitan Police Service in 2000 where he is a serving Detective. As for cycling, well rugby and a short stint at boxing was too brutal and the Doctors advised something a little more gentle so Neil took him to buy a bike and it’s fair to say the journey is only just beginning
David previously spent 10 years in corporate headhunting at the Director level placing senior finance professionals into firms such as KPMG, PWC, and Deloitte.
He founded Discount Sports Network (DSN) and ran the business for almost 4 years before merging the business with Endurance Zone in 2020 and rebranding DSN to Endurance Zone Rewards.
Neil works in London for the Met Police. After completing his 30 years, retiring as a DS it soon became apparent he had no knowledge of the outside world or had any skills that would interest private industry. So he’s now back with the Met training the new detectives. When you ask where did it go wrong for the police you can say, August 2020.
Cycling doesn’t come naturally to Neil, he works hard to maintain a low level of ability. But has surrounded himself with some great cycling friends to look after him in this country and abroad.
We are looking for members who are willing to work together. Raising awareness and supporting both our Emergency Services, NHS & Armed Forces
However, another great reason of all is the opportunities to connect with other riders. With members all across the UK in our club, you are sure to find a group to sync up with.
